| Atlanta – State Rep. Tom McCall, D-Elberton,
has been named to the Erosion and Sediment Control Overview Council.
McCall was appointed to the post by House Speaker Terry Coleman, D-Eastman.
The overview panel is empowered to develop an erosion control plan governing
construction companies hired by the Department of Transportation.
According to legislation creating the council, “the council shall
provide guidance on the best management practices for implementing any
erosion and sediment control plan” in connection with certain Department
of Transportation projects.
In addition to legislative representation, the nine-member panel consists
of experts with engineering and environmental experience.
McCall, who is Vice-Chairman of the Natural Resources and Environment
Committee, and also serves on the Transportation and Agriculture and
Consumer Affairs committees.
