Senate Resolution 75EX2

A RESOLUTION

Commending Police Chief David Wyrick and the members of the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Chief David Wyrick is an outstanding law enforcement officer who has contributed substantially to the peace and safety of the community he serves and to the welfare of its citizens; and

WHEREAS, Chief Wyrick has a special regard for his fellow citizens and their families and has instilled in his staff the personal dedication, discipline, and thoroughness he has toward the duties of his office; and

WHEREAS, he and the members of the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department have consistently conducted their responsibilities with the utmost ability, care, and integrity and in so doing have earned the confidence and trust of the community they serve; and

WHEREAS, Chief Wyrick and the members of the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department have worked to end the video poker industry and, with and through their assistance, the General Assembly has now enacted a ban on video poker in Georgia.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Police Chief David Wyrick and the members of the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department on their excellent record of accomplishments; their commitment to ensuring the peace, safety, and welfare of the public; and for their assistance and support in ending video poker in Georgia.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Chief Wyrick.
