Senator Daniel Lee, a Democrat from LaGrange, was elected to the state senate in 1998 to
represent the 29th senatorial district.
He serves as secretary of the Economic Development, Tourism and Cultural Affairs
committee. He is also a member of the Interstate Cooperation; Judiciary; Natural
Resources; and Public Safety committees.
Senator Lee plans to focus on legislation to improve the state's public education system,
clean up the Chattahoochee River and decrease juvenile delinquency.
Lee was born in Luthersville, Georgia. He graduated from LaGrange College in 1981. He
earned his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama in
1985.
He is married to Susan Holliday, and they have one son, Daniel, Jr. They are members of
the First United Methodist Church of LaGrange
The 29th senatorial district includes Heard, Meriwether, Pike, Troup and part of Spalding
counties.
