                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending Andrew B. Floyd on becoming an Eagle Scout; and 
  1- 2  for other purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, Andrew B. Floyd of Watkinsville, Georgia, has 
  1- 4  recently completed the requirements for the rank of Eagle 
  1- 5  Scout; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, he is a ninth grade student, a middle school honor 
  1- 7  graduate, a devoted member of Beech Haven Baptist Church, 
  1- 8  has taken part in four summer camps, has earned the Mile 
  1- 9  Swim Badge three times, has earned 39 merit badges, has held 
  1-10  most offices in the troop, and has attended Philmont Scout 
  1-11  Camp in New Mexico; and 
 
  1-12  WHEREAS, he is a dedicated member of Troop 149, sponsored by 
  1-13  Friendship Presbyterian Church; and 
 
  1-14  WHEREAS, since 1911, the Eagle has been the symbol of the 
  1-15  highest achievement among the Boy Scouts of America; and 
 
  1-16  WHEREAS, the attainment of this rank indicates that a Scout 
  1-17  has developed leadership ability, self-confidence, mature 
  1-18  judgment, and mental and physical capabilities that will be 
  1-19  of immense benefit throughout life; and 
 
  1-20  WHEREAS, in order for a Scout to reach this goal, he must 
  1-21  earn 21 merit badges, 11 of which are mandatory requirements 
  1-22  for the Eagle Scout program; and 
 
  1-23  WHEREAS, in achieving Eagle Scout status, Andrew B. Floyd 
  1-24  has brought honor not only to himself, but also to his 
  1-25  family, church, and troop. 
 
  1-26  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-27  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and 
  1-28  commend Andrew B. Floyd on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout 
  1-29  and extend to him their sincere best wishes for success and 
  1-30  happiness in future endeavors. 
 
  1-31  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-32  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  1-33  appropriate copy of this resolution to Andrew B. Floyd.
