                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending the Southwest Georgia Academy Warriors football 
  1- 2  team and inviting the players and coaches to appear before 
  1- 3  the House of Representatives; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 4  WHEREAS, the Southwest Georgia Academy Warriors football 
  1- 5  team has established and maintained a proud tradition of 
  1- 6  excellence in boys' football with equal emphasis on 
  1- 7  character and academics, with six Georgia Independent School 
  1- 8  Division AA state championships since 1972; and 
 
  1- 9  WHEREAS, this superlative team has completed another 
  1-10  ultrasuccessful season of football competition by posting an 
  1-11  outstanding record of ten wins and three losses; and 
 
  1-12  WHEREAS, the Warriors rampaged through the state playoffs 
  1-13  posting a dramatic come-from-behind victory over Bulloch 
  1-14  Academy by overcoming a 24 point deficit; and 
 
  1-15  WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team in facing 
  1-16  long odds and prevailing is a clear indication of the 
  1-17  outstanding athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, 
  1-18  and the unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the 
  1-19  team, their superb offensive and defensive talents, and the 
  1-20  astute direction of Head Coach Bill Murdock and assistants 
  1-21  Max Evans, David Bell, Wayne Profitt, Jr., Kevin Petroski, 
  1-22  Royce Cannington, and Joey Durham; and 
 
  1-23  WHEREAS, this magnificent team performed with precision 
  1-24  during the season and earned its well-deserved reputation 
  1-25  for high standards of athletic achievement, the quality of 
  1-26  its play, and the stiff competition which it presented its 
  1-27  opponents. 
 
  1-28  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-29  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the 
  1-30  Southwest Georgia Academy Warriors football team for its 
  1-31  unparalleled achievements and extend their sincerest best 
  1-32  wishes for continued success in the future. 
 
  1-33  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the players and coaches of the 
  1-34  Southwest Georgia Academy Warriors football team are invited 
  1-35  to appear before this body on a date and at a time 
  1-36  designated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

  2- 1  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  2- 2  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  2- 3  appropriate copy of this resolution to Head Coach Bill
