A RESOLUTION
1- 1 Honoring the life of Theodore Montgomery, Sr., and
1- 2 expressing regret at his passing; and for other purposes.
1- 3 WHEREAS, Theodore Montgomery, Sr., was born in Lancaster,
1- 4 South Carolina, as the son of the late Roscoe and Annie Bell
1- 5 Montgomery; and
1- 6 WHEREAS, he served his country honorably during World War II
1- 7 as a member of the United States Army; and
1- 8 WHEREAS, he was retired from Springs Industries and from the
1- 9 Belk Department Store; and
1-10 WHEREAS, he was a faithful member of Mount Nebo Baptist
1-11 Church where he served as a deacon; and
1-12 WHEREAS, he was founding president of the Eastside Hunting
1-13 Club for 22 years; and
1-14 WHEREAS, he was the beloved husband of Juanita Barnes
1-15 Montgomery and the father of three sons: Theodore
1-16 Montgomery, Jr., Michael Ray Montgomery, and E. Dean
1-17 Montgomery; and
1-18 WHEREAS, he was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by
1-19 his family and friends.
1-20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
1-21 REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body honor the life
1-22 of Mr. Theodore Montgomery, Sr., and express their sincere
1-23 regret at his passing.
1-24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of
1-25 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
1-26 appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Juanita
1-27 Montgomery.
