school wrestler. As a freshman in the 140 pound class, he
recently won the 2000 Georgia State Class A championship; and
WHEREAS, Hunter compiled an impressive 41-4 record in the
1999-2000 season; and WHEREAS, as a freshman with a great career
ahead of him, Hunter will certainly continue to dominate his
weight class in Georgia wrestling; and WHEREAS, his amazing
accomplishments this year also include first place in the Panther
Invitational, the Mountaineer Invitational, and the Patriot
Classic, second place in the Keen Classic, the Amicalola Classic,
and the Morgan County Invitational, as well terrific placings in
numerous other contests; and WHEREAS, Hunter is a fine example
of the scholar athlete and his achievements merit special
recognition because with his wrestling victories he has brought
honor to his family, his school, and his community. NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize and commend Hunter Garner on
winning the 2000 Georgia State Class A championship for wrestling
in the 140 pound class and on his entire year of well earned

which benefitted the Douglasville/Douglas County Regional Youth
Shelter; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the "Grand Gala at
Arbor Place" was held in Douglasville on Tuesday, October 12,
1999, in anticipation of the opening of the new Arbor Place Mall;
and WHEREAS, this gala was a charity event, the proceeds of
which benefitted area children by providing initial capital for a
Douglasville/Douglas County Regional Youth Shelter, a place
intended to provide safe, temporary care and protection of area
children who need a short-term placement away from home; and
WHEREAS, CBL & Associates Properties, Inc., generously provided
the site for the gala event at its impressive new Arbor Place
Mall development; and WHEREAS, the WellStar Foundation
generously provided $150,000.00 in matching funds to benefit the
shelter; and WHEREAS, community co-chairs for the event were
Brenda Head and Janice Thompson from Douglasville, with crucial
support from Thom Guerra and Brenda McNeely of CBL & Associates
Properties, Inc., and Sandy White, Sandy VanSant, and Stephanie
Rakestraw of the WellStar Foundation; and WHEREAS, it is only
fitting and proper that these organizations and individuals be
recognized for their generous contributions of resources, time,
and talent to this most worthy charity. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT

WHEREAS, she had developed a solid spiritual foundation, provided
