                        A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
                               AN ACT


  1- 1  To amend an Act providing a new charter for the City of
  1- 2  Buchanan, approved August 17, 1908 (Ga. Laws 1908, p. 468),
  1- 3  as amended, so as to annex certain territory into the city
  1- 4  and change the corporate limits of the city; to provide for
  1- 5  related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
  1- 6  purposes.

  1- 7       BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

                         SECTION 1.

  1- 8  An Act providing a new charter for the City of Buchanan,
  1- 9  approved August 17, 1908 (Ga. Laws 1908, p. 468), as
  1-10  amended, is amended by adding after Section 3A a new Section
  1-11  3B to read as follows:

                        "SECTION 3B.

  1-12    In addition to all other territory included in the
  1-13    corporate limits of the City of Buchanan, the following
  1-14    described property shall also be within and a part of the
  1-15    corporate limits of the City of Buchanan:

  1-16      'All of the right of way of State Highway 1/U.S. Highway
  1-17      27 (the Buchanan Bypass) from the south side of said
  1-18      Bypass's intersection on the south side of the City of
  1-19      Buchanan with State Highway 1 Business/U.S. Highway 27
  1-20      Business (Hilltop Drive) to the north side of said
  1-21      Bypass's intersection on the north side of the City of
  1-22      Buchanan with State Highway 1 Business/U.S. Highway 27
  1-23      Business (Tallapoosa East Church Road).'

  1-24    It is the intent of this section to annex into the City of
  1-25    Buchanan all of the right of way of the public highway
  1-26    commonly known as the Buchanan Bypass."

                         SECTION 2.

  1-27  All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
  1-28  repealed.
