                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending Nu-Way Weiners, Inc.; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 2  WHEREAS, Nu-Way Weiners, Inc., of Macon, Georgia, is the 
  1- 3  second oldest continuously operating hot dog establishment 
  1- 4  in the United States, having operated without interruption 
  1- 5  since 1916; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, Nu-Way Weiners, Inc., is the oldest continuously 
  1- 7  operating hot dog establishment in the State of Georgia; and 
 
  1- 8  WHEREAS, Nu-Way Weiners, Inc., has served over 130 million 
  1- 9  hot dogs; and 
 
  1-10  WHEREAS, Money Magazine has recognized Nu-Way Weiners, Inc., 
  1-11  as one of the nine best hot dog venues in America; and 
 
  1-12  WHEREAS, Nu-Way Weiners, Inc., was prominently featured in a 
  1-13  recent Public Broadcasting System program saluting the best 
  1-14  hot dog establishments in America; and 
 
  1-15  WHEREAS, the jealously guarded secret recipe of Nu-Way 
  1-16  Weiners, Inc., for hot dog chili, its famous Flakey Ice, its 
  1-17  famous Mega Burger, and other well-known food items have 
  1-18  combined with the famous Nu-Way hot dog to establish Nu-Way 
  1-19  Weiners, Inc., as one of the signature eating establishments 
  1-20  in the City of Macon and the State of Georgia; and 
 
  1-21  WHEREAS, the advertising jingle "I'd Go a Long Way for a 
  1-22  Nu-Way" has had real meaning for millions of travelers 
  1-23  through middle Georgia who have made special trips through 
  1-24  Macon just to have a Nu-Way. 
 
  1-25  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that Nu-Way 
  1-26  Weiners, Inc., and all the past and present owners and 
  1-27  employees thereof are commended for being the second oldest 
  1-28  continuously operating hot dog establishment in the United 
  1-29  States and for their contributions to the economic and 
  1-30  gastronomic well-being of the City of Macon, Bibb County, 
  1-31  and the State of Georgia. 
 
  1-32  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is 
  1-33  authorized and directed to transmit appropriate copies of 
  1-34  this resolution to the principals of Nu-Way Weiners, Inc.
