1- 1 Commending Josh Zaffos; and for other purposes.
1- 2 WHEREAS, many of Georgia's young people work during each
1- 3 legislative session providing valuable services to the
1- 4 members of the General Assembly while gaining valuable
1- 5 information about state government and how it works; and
1- 6 WHEREAS, many of these students and young adults are
1- 7 employed as staff members for Senate and House legislative
1- 8 committees or as aides to individual members; and
1- 9 WHEREAS, others work for various interest groups as
1-10 assistants, interns, and monitors, prowling the hallways of
1-11 the Capitol and following the course of legislation through
1-12 committees and floor debate; and
1-13 WHEREAS, few among these dedicated workers are more
1-14 consistent and persistent at his tasks than Josh Zaffos, a
1-15 monitor for the Georgia Environmental Council, the umbrella
1-16 organization of Georgia's conservation movement; and
1-17 WHEREAS, Josh's relentless dedication has won him the
1-18 affectionate and respected nickname "Killer," for his
1-19 unerring reportage on the status of legislation.
1-20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the
1-21 members of this body recognize and commend Josh Zaffos of
1-22 the Georgia Environmental Council for his dedication to his
1-23 often thankless tasks and for his unfailingly excellent
1-24 attitude toward his work during the 1999 session of the
1-25 General Assembly.
1-26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is
1-27 authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of
1-28 this resolution to Josh Zaffos.
