                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending Reverend Ronald E. Terry, Sr.; and for other 
  1- 2  purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, Reverend Ronald E. Terry, Sr., is the distinguished 
  1- 4  minister of the New Fellowship Baptist Church in Macon, 
  1- 5  Georgia, where he has served since 1977; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, he has combined his love of music with his 
  1- 7  spiritual ministry and was president of the Eastern Kentucky 
  1- 8  Baptist Music Convention, director of music for the General 
  1- 9  Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, and president of 
  1-10  the Music Auxiliary of The National Baptist Convention, USA; 
  1-11  and 
 
  1-12  WHEREAS, in addition to his religious engagements and 
  1-13  responsibilities, he has been a member of the Executive 
  1-14  Board of Directors of Macon's Cherry Blossom Festival, Board 
  1-15  of Directors of Project Read and Macon's 2000 Challenge for 
  1-16  Change, and the Director of Inter-Faith Community of Middle 
  1-17  Georgia; and 
 
  1-18  WHEREAS, he is a faculty member of the National Baptist 
  1-19  Congress of Christian Education, and he was named Man of the 
  1-20  Year for the City of Macon in 1994 and received the 
  1-21  Distinguished Service Award from the City of Minneapolis; 
  1-22  and 
 
  1-23  WHEREAS, the many accomplishments and significant 
  1-24  contributions he has made during his long and successful 
  1-25  career in the ministry have improved the quality of life for 
  1-26  countless individuals and their families and his efforts and 
  1-27  energy merit recognition and high praise. 
 
  1-28  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the 
  1-29  members of this body recognize and commend Reverend Ronald 
  1-30  E. Terry, Sr., for his marvelous spiritual leadership and 
  1-31  convey to him their respect and appreciation. 
 
  1-32  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is 
  1-33  authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of 
  1-34  this resolution to Reverend Ronald E. Terry, Sr.
