                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending John Lee; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 2  WHEREAS, John Lee has served for 26 years as the Scout 
  1- 3  Master for Boy Scout Troop 56 in Soperton, Georgia; and 
 
  1- 4  WHEREAS, Mr. Lee has assisted 33 young men in the community 
  1- 5  to attain the prestigious award of Eagle Scout; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, through Mr. Lee's leadership, the people, 
  1- 7  businesses, and organizations of Soperton have given the 
  1- 8  Scouts there opportunities not ordinarily available to most 
  1- 9  Troops; and 
 
  1-10  WHEREAS, he has always insisted that his Scouts pursue 
  1-11  excellence and avoid settling for mediocrity, and he has 
  1-12  never given anything to a Scout that was not earned; and 
 
  1-13  WHEREAS, Mr. Lee has tried to expand a Scout's exposure to 
  1-14  different skills and tasks by bringing in members of the 
  1-15  community to assist the young men in earning merit badges in 
  1-16  various categories; and 
 
  1-17  WHEREAS, many of his Eagle Scout projects have benefited the 
  1-18  community including rebuilding a pump for the city swimming 
  1-19  pool, repainting the porch of the library, and planting 
  1-20  shrubs at area schools; and 
 
  1-21  WHEREAS, although Mr. Lee will be relinquishing the job of 
  1-22  Scout Master, his love for the outdoors and camping 
  1-23  continues, and he will maintain a strong commitment to the 
  1-24  Scouts as an active Troop Committeeman. 
 
  1-25  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that this body 
  1-26  commends Mr. John Lee for his and his Scouts' outstanding 
  1-27  achievements and especially for his 26 years of dedicated 
  1-28  service as Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 56 in Soperton, 
  1-29  Georgia. 
 
  1-30  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is 
  1-31  authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of 
  1-32  this resolution to Mr. John Lee, Scout Master of Boy Scout 
  1-33  Troop 56 in Soperton, Georgia.
