                        A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 
                               AN ACT 
 
 
  1- 1  To amend Code Section 27-2-4 of the Official Code of Georgia 
  1- 2  Annotated, relating to honorary hunting and fishing 
  1- 3  licenses, so as to provide for honorary fishing licenses for 
  1- 4  certain peace officers and provide for terms and conditions 
  1- 5  relating thereto; to provide for unlawful acts; to repeal 
  1- 6  conflicting laws; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 7       BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: 
 
  1- 8                           SECTION 1. 
 
  1- 9  Code Section 27-2-4 of the Official Code of Georgia 
  1-10  Annotated, relating to honorary hunting and fishing 
  1-11  licenses, is amended by adding at the end a new subsection 
  1-12  to read as follows: 
 
  1-13    "(f) The department shall issue an annual honorary fishing 
  1-14    license, which shall entitle a resident to fish in this 
  1-15    state without the payment of any fee whatsoever for the 
  1-16    effective dates of such license, to each resident who is 
  1-17    certified as a peace officer under Chapter 8 of Title 35, 
  1-18    the 'Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Act,' 
  1-19    upon proper proof of such certification.  Such honorary 
  1-20    license is subject to all fishing laws, rules, and 
  1-21    regulations with the exception of the provisions requiring 
  1-22    the payment of fees for such license.  Such license may be 
  1-23    revoked in accordance with this title.  Such honorary 
  1-24    license shall have the same effective dates provided in 
  1-25    Code Section 27-2-3.  It shall be unlawful for any person 
  1-26    who has an honorary fishing license to permit the use of 
  1-27    the same by another person.  It shall also be unlawful for 
  1-28    any person who is not entitled to an honorary fishing 
  1-29    license to use such license.  Any person holding a valid 
  1-30    honorary license pursuant to this Code section shall not 
  1-31    be required to obtain the trout stamp otherwise required 
  1-32    by Code Section 27-2-6."
