                             A RESOLUTION 
  1- 1  Commending the Gainesville High School baseball team; and 
  1- 2  for other purposes. 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, the Gainesville High School Red Elephants baseball 
  1- 4  team earned a distinction rarely attained among high school 
  1- 5  teams by winning their second straight state championship in 
  1- 6  Class AA; and 
  1- 7  WHEREAS, like true champions, the Red Elephants swept a 
  1- 8  doubleheader with a score of 5-4 in game one and a score of 
  1- 9  4-2 in game two playing The Lovett School; and 
  1-10  WHEREAS, throughout the season these young athletes 
  1-11  consistently demonstrated exceptional ability in their 
  1-12  powerful hits at the plate and formed a cohesive defense in 
  1-13  the field; and 
  1-14  WHEREAS, this awesome team was ranked No.1 all season, 
  1-15  achieved a 22 game winning streak in the regular season, and 
  1-16  completed 12 straight wins in the playoffs; and 
  1-17  WHEREAS, the brilliant performance and marvelous record 
  1-18  compiled by this special group of athletes reflects the 
  1-19  superior coaching delivered by Wayne Vickery and his staff 
  1-20  and brought honor and credit to the school and the 
  1-21  community. 
  1-23  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the 
  1-24  Gainesville High School baseball team on winning its second 
  1-25  consecutive championship and convey their heartiest 
  1-26  congratulations to the team and its coaches. 
  1-27  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-28  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  1-29  appropriate copy of this resolution to Gainesville High 
  1-30  School.
