                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending the public service campaign to discourage 
  1- 2  teen-age drinking; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, the citizens of Georgia have expressed great 
  1- 4  concern regarding the increasingly dangerous and 
  1- 5  irresponsible situations that occur from teen-age 
  1- 6  consumption of alcoholic beverages; and 
 
  1- 7  WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Convenience Stores, the 
  1- 8  Georgia Oilmen's Association, and the Georgia Association of 
  1- 9  Petroleum Retailers developed an educational public service 
  1-10  campaign to alert Georgia's youth about the serious 
  1-11  consequences of attempting to purchase alcoholic beverages 
  1-12  and the new state laws enacted by the Georgia General 
  1-13  Assembly; and 
 
  1-14  WHEREAS, the campaign "Try to Buy Beer" uses humor as an 
  1-15  attention getter and delivers a clear message at the point 
  1-16  of sale in retail outlets to discourage underage purchases 
  1-17  by teen-agers in Georgia. 
 
  1-18  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-19  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the 
  1-20  public service campaign designed to educate and discourage 
  1-21  underage purchases of alcoholic beverages by teen-agers in 
  1-22  Georgia. 
 
  1-23  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-24  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit 
  1-25  appropriate copies of this resolution to the Georgia 
  1-26  Association of Convenience Stores, the Georgia Oilmen's 
  1-27  Association, and the Georgia Association of Petroleum
