1- 1 Expressing regret at the passing of Winnie Stancil Jordan;
1- 2 and for other purposes.
1- 3 WHEREAS, Winnie Stancil Jordan will long be remembered by
1- 4 her many friends, neighbors, and family who valued her
1- 5 wonderful outlook on life and her active involvement in her
1- 6 community; and
1- 7 WHEREAS, she was the loving partner of the late Johnnie Nick
1- 8 Jordan for 55 years, and she and her husband founded and
1- 9 operated Jordan Bridge Company, Inc., in Atlanta, Georgia,
1-10 where she was a director and an officer for 35 years; and
1-11 WHEREAS, she was a nurturing and understanding mother to her
1-12 two children, Nicholas J. Jordan and Sue Jordan Starnes, who
1-13 were a source of pride to her throughout her life, and she
1-14 was a beloved grandmother to five very fortunate young
1-15 people whose interests and personal development were a joy
1-16 to her; and
1-17 WHEREAS, her brother is the Honorable Frank E. Stancil of
1-18 Athens, Georgia, our colleague and dear friend, whose deep
1-19 abiding love has been a source of strength for all the
1-20 members of his family; and
1-21 WHEREAS, her concern for others and her genuine kindness
1-22 endeared her to all who knew her, and her memory is
1-23 cherished by her family and friends.
1-24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
1-25 REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body express their
1-26 regret at the passing of Winnie Stancil Jordan and convey
1-27 their sincerest sympathy to the members of her family.
1-28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of
1-29 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
1-30 appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Winnie
1-31 Stancil Jordan.
