                             A RESOLUTION 
  1- 1  Commending Bradley Taylor Dollar for his achievement in 
  1- 2  scouting; and for other purposes. 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, Bradley Taylor Dollar of Troop 173 in Marietta, 
  1- 4  Georgia, reached the rank of Eagle Scout, the most 
  1- 5  distinguished rank conferred by the Boy Scouts of America 
  1- 6  and received by only 2 percent of all boys involved in 
  1- 7  scouting; and 
  1- 8  WHEREAS, a candidate for this highest award in scouting must 
  1- 9  complete a rigorous program of citizenship training, 
  1-10  character development, and personal fitness and must 
  1-11  demonstrate proficiency in selected scouting techniques; and 
  1-12  WHEREAS, Bradley Taylor Dollar, "Brad" to those who know 
  1-13  him, has ably demonstrated his aptitude and competency in 
  1-14  scouting and in life by mastering the various special skills 
  1-15  taught in the Eagle Scout program; and 
  1-16  WHEREAS, through hard work, Brad earned this prestigious 
  1-17  rank and has shown heartfelt and consistent commitment to 
  1-18  scouting principles and to character, honor, and duty; and 
  1-19  WHEREAS, the rank of Eagle Scout was officially conferred 
  1-20  upon Brad during a special ceremony in September 1997; and 
  1-21  WHEREAS, to earn the Eagle Scout rank, Brad completed a 
  1-22  project involving the construction of a sand volleyball 
  1-23  court for the youth at Hope Presbyterian Church in Marietta; 
  1-24  and 
  1-25  WHEREAS, this outstanding junior at Pope High School has 
  1-26  truly exhibited a commitment to the scouting principles of 
  1-27  honesty and fairness and has consistently conducted his 
  1-28  himself in a manner befitting an Eagle Scout; and 
  1-29  WHEREAS, Brad's parents, Luke G. and Sue K. Dollar, have 
  1-30  provided him with a solid family foundation with which he is 
  1-31  able to set and pursue life-enriching goals; and 
  1-32  WHEREAS, Brad's achievements and his shining example are 
  1-33  what we hope more of our young people and all of our future 
  1-34  leaders will strive for.  He exemplifies personal 
  2- 1  responsibility, a respect for the law and the environment, 
  2- 2  as well as a strong desire to succeed. 
  2- 4  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend 
  2- 5  Bradley Taylor Dollar for his diligence and dedication in 
  2- 6  pursuing the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of 
  2- 7  America and congratulate him on attaining the prestigious 
  2- 8  rank of Eagle Scout and wish for him success in his future 
  2- 9  pursuits. 
  2-10  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  2-11  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  2-12  appropriate copy of this resolution to Bradley Taylor 
  2-13  Dollar.
