                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending the Georgia Preschool Association and the 
  1- 2  preschool teachers of Georgia; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, high quality early childhood education is critical 
  1- 4  to the future health and well-being of Georgia's young 
  1- 5  people and of our state as a  whole; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, the members of the Georgia Preschool Association 
  1- 7  are dedicated to enhancing early childhood education in 
  1- 8  Georgia through various effective and valuable types of 
  1- 9  activities; and 
 
  1-10  WHEREAS, the goals of the Georgia Preschool Association 
  1-11  include unifying the field of Early Childhood Education 
  1-12  throughout Georgia, with energy focused on serving the needs 
  1-13  of young children; providing conferences, seminars, and 
  1-14  other educational opportunities that are responsive to the 
  1-15  developmental needs of preschool teachers and promoting high 
  1-16  standards of teacher competency; increasing public awareness 
  1-17  of the need for and benefits of high quality and 
  1-18  developmentally appropriate early childhood education 
  1-19  programs; and advocating effective legislation to ensure 
  1-20  high quality early childhood education in Georgia; and 
 
  1-21  WHEREAS, the members of the Georgia Preschool Association 
  1-22  have done an admirable job in achieving their goals and have 
  1-23  played a vital role in advocating the highest quality of 
  1-24  early childhood education for the citizens of Georgia; and 
 
  1-25  WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to recognize the 
  1-26  outstanding contributions, dedication, and performance of 
  1-27  preschool teachers and the esteem in which they are held by 
  1-28  the citizens of Georgia. 
 
  1-29  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-30  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend each 
  1-31  and every preschool teacher in this state for her or his 
  1-32  outstanding service to the people of Georgia. 
 
  1-33  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of this body commend 
  1-34  the Georgia Preschool Association for its valuable efforts 
  1-35  on behalf of Georgia's children.

  2- 1  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  2- 2  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  2- 3  appropriate copy of this resolution to the President of the
