                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending Karah Kiley-Rae Cripe; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 2  WHEREAS, on March 12, 1998, Karah Kiley-Rae Cripe will 
  1- 3  receive the Girl Scout Silver Award, the highest award 
  1- 4  earned in the Cadette Girl Scouts; and 
 
  1- 5  WHEREAS, Karah will become the first girl in Ware County to 
  1- 6  receive this award in the 86 year history of the Girl 
  1- 7  Scouts; and 
 
  1- 8  WHEREAS, to earn the award, Karah completed over 150 hours 
  1- 9  of community service and also served as an assistant to the 
  1-10  parent volunteer who facilitated a reading program in her 
  1-11  school that resulted in 150 children reading 4,100 books 
  1-12  during the 1996-1997 school year; and 
 
  1-13  WHEREAS, Karah's major project was the completion of a book 
  1-14  based on her research and documentation of over 400 graves 
  1-15  in a small, forgotten cemetery; she distributed the book to 
  1-16  local, regional, and national genealogy libraries at no 
  1-17  charge; and 
 
  1-18  WHEREAS, she is an exceptional student who maintains a 4.0 
  1-19  average at the Ware County Magnet School of Agriculture, 
  1-20  Forestry, and Environmental Sciences; and 
 
  1-21  WHEREAS, she is an All-American Scholar and United States 
  1-22  Achievement Academy Scholar and, among other activities, is 
  1-23  a member of the Honor Roll, the school band, the Math Team, 
  1-24  the Georgia Quiz Bowl Team, and the Science Club and is 
  1-25  president of the Ware County Junior 4-H Club; and 
 
  1-26  WHEREAS, she was recognized by her church, The Church of 
  1-27  Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, as a Young Woman of 
  1-28  Excellence. 
 
  1-29  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-30  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize 
  1-31  Karah Kiley-Rae Cripe as an outstanding citizen whose 
  1-32  demonstrated achievements and abilities promise great things 
  1-33  for the future and commend her on receiving the prestigious 
  1-34  Girl Scout Silver Award.

  2- 2  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
