                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending Timothy S. Rausch; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 2  WHEREAS, Timothy S. Rausch of Norcross, Georgia, will 
  1- 3  attain, on March 6, 1998, the rank of Eagle Scout, the 
  1- 4  highest and most distinguished rank conferred by the Boy 
  1- 5  Scouts of America; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, he is a member of Boy Scout Troop 247 of Norcross 
  1- 7  First United Methodist Church led by Scoutmaster Jim Grant; 
  1- 8  and 
 
  1- 9  WHEREAS, a candidate for the most exceptional award in 
  1-10  scouting must complete a rigorous program of training and 
  1-11  demonstrate his proficiency in selected scouting techniques 
  1-12  and attainment of the highest ideals of scouting; and 
 
  1-13  WHEREAS, only one scout out of 97 ever reaches this lofty 
  1-14  level of achievement, and Timothy S. Rausch has ably 
  1-15  demonstrated his aptitude and competency in mastering the 
  1-16  various special skills taught through the Boy Scout program; 
  1-17  and 
 
  1-18  WHEREAS, to earn the Eagle Scout rank, Timothy completed a 
  1-19  project involving the construction of a nature trail at 
  1-20  Simpson Elementary School; and 
 
  1-21  WHEREAS, this outstanding senior at Norcross High School has 
  1-22  truly exhibited a commitment to the scouting principles of 
  1-23  honesty and fairness and has consistently conducted himself 
  1-24  in a manner becoming an Eagle Scout; and 
 
  1-25  WHEREAS, he is the son of Steven W. and Christy L. Rausch; 
  1-26  and 
 
  1-27  WHEREAS, in a world which seems to accentuate consistently 
  1-28  the negative aspects of the actions of young people, it is 
  1-29  abundantly fitting and proper for this body to recognize 
  1-30  with particularity the outstanding accomplishments of this 
  1-31  extraordinary individual. 
 
  1-32  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-33  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend 
  1-34  Timothy S. Rausch for his diligence and dedication in 
  1-35  pursuing the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of

  2- 1  America and congratulate him on attaining the prestigious 
  2- 2  rank of Eagle Scout. 
 
  2- 3  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  2- 4  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
