                        A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 
                               AN ACT 
 
 
  1- 1  To amend an Act creating a new charter for the City of 
  1- 2  Cohutta, approved April 10, 1969 (Ga. L. 1969, p. 2529), as 
  1- 3  amended, particularly by an Act approved January 23, 1980 
  1- 4  (Ga. L. 1980, p. 4122), and an Act approved March 28, 1990 
  1- 5  (Ga. L. 1990, p. 4786), so as to provide for further 
  1- 6  annexation and related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; 
  1- 7  and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 8       BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: 
 
  1- 9                           SECTION 1. 
 
  1-10  An Act creating a new charter for the City of Cohutta, 
  1-11  approved April 10, 1969 (Ga. L. 1969, p. 2529), as amended, 
  1-12  particularly by an Act approved January 23, 1980 (Ga. L. 
  1-13  1980, p. 4122), and an Act approved March 28, 1990 (Ga. L. 
  1-14  1990, p. 4786), is amended by striking Section 1.03 in its 
  1-15  entirety and inserting in lieu thereof a new Section 1.03 to 
  1-16  read as follows: 
 
  1-17                         "SECTION 1.03. 
 
 
  1-18    Be it further enacted, that the boundaries of the city 
  1-19    shall be as follows: 
 
  1-20      Those certain tracts or parcels of land lying and being 
  1-21      in land lots nos. 24, 25, 47, 48, 60, 61, 62, 63, 82, 
  1-22      84, 85, 96, 98, 99, 117, 118, 119, 121, 136, and 137 in 
  1-23      the 11th district and 3rd section of Whitfield County, 
  1-24      Georgia, and being more particularly described as 
  1-25      follows: 
 
  1-26        Beginning at the southeast corner of said land lot no. 
  1-27        83; thence north along the east line of said land lot 
  1-28        to the southwest corner of the property owned by Swift 
  1-29        family; thence east to the southeast corner of the 
  1-30        property owned by Swift family; thence north along the 
  1-31        east line of the property of Swift and Martin to the 
  1-32        north line of said land lot no. 84; thence east along

  2- 1        the north line of said land lot no. 84 for a distance 
  2- 2        of 1,460 feet; thence south to the south line of said 
  2- 3        land lot no. 84; continuing south 100 feet, more or 
  2- 4        less, to the south boundary of Mt. Olivet Cemetery 
  2- 5        thence east parallel along the south line of said land 
  2- 6        lot nos. 84 and 85 to a point 350 feet west of the 
  2- 7        west right-of-way line of Georgia Highway No. 71; 
  2- 8        thence south parallel to the west right-of-way of 
  2- 9        Georgia Highway 71 for a distance of 2,600 feet, more 
  2-10        or less, to the south line of said land lot no. 96; 
  2-11        thence easterly to the southwest corner of the 
  2-12        property of Odell Riddle; thence along the south 
  2-13        property line of Odell Riddle to the west right-of-way 
  2-14        of Georgia Highway 71; thence south 375 feet, more or 
  2-15        less, along the west right-of-way of Georgia Highway 
  2-16        71; to a point directly west of the south property 
  2-17        line of David and Shelia Rose; thence east to the 
  2-18        southwest corner of the property of David and Shelia 
  2-19        Rose; thence east along the south property line of 
  2-20        David and Shelia Rose 700 feet from the east right of 
  2-21        way of Georgia Highway 71; 
 
  2-22        thence north parallel to the east right-of-way of 
  2-23        Georgia Highway 71 1900 feet or more or less to Rocky 
  2-24        Branch; thence northerly approximately 2650 feet to a 
  2-25        point 350 feet west of the east right-of-way of 
  2-26        Cleveland Highway on the south right-of-way of 
  2-27        Cohutta-Beaverdale Road; thence north along a line 
  2-28        parallel and 350 feet west of the east right of way of 
  2-29        Cleveland Highway to the northeast corner of the 
  2-30        property of Ben Manis on Old Dalton-Cleveland Road; 
  2-31        thence east along the south right-of-way of Old Dalton 
  2-32        Cleveland Road 775 feet, more or less, to the 
  2-33        southwest corner of land lot no. 59; thence north 
  2-34        along said land lot no. 59, 940 feet, more or less, to 
  2-35        the south property line of the Seaton property; thence 
  2-36        west 950 feet, more or less, to the east right-of-way 
  2-37        of Georgia Highway 71; thence westerly, crossing 
  2-38        Georgia Highway 71, 1,975 feet, more or less, to the 
  2-39        southwest corner of the property of Mrs. H. S. Manis; 
  2-40        thence north along the west line of said land lot no. 
  2-41        60, 1,440 feet, more or less, to the northwest corner

  3- 6        no. 25; thence west along the north line of land lot 
  3- 7        no. 47 to the west right-of-way line of Norfolk 
  3- 8        Southern Railway Company; thence southwardly along the 
  3- 9        west right-of-way of Norfolk Southern Railway Company 
  3-10        to a point 1500 feet more or less north of the right 
  3-11        of way of Pleasant Valley Drive on the southeast 
  3-12        corner of property owned by Hamilton; thence west on 
  3-13        the south line of Hamilton and continuing to a point 
  3-14        50 feet west of the west right-of way of Apison Road; 
  3-15        thence proceeding southerly a distance of 1,300 feet 
  3-16        on a line 50 feet from the west right of way of Apison 
  3-17        Road, thence on a line crossing the south line of land 
  3-18        lot no. 47 at a point a distance of 1,460 feet east of 
  3-19        the southwest corner of land lot no. 47 and proceeding 
  3-20        southeasterly 2,200 feet, more or less, to the 
  3-21        southwest corner of the property of Pat Williams at 
  3-22        the Fetzer line; thence west to a point on the east 
  3-23        line of Henson, 510 feet north of the north 
  3-24        right-of-way of the Cohutta-Chattanooga Road; thence 
  3-25        continuing west along the same line to a point on the 
  3-26        west line of land lot 62, 290 feet north of the north
