                        A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 
                               AN ACT 
 
 
  1- 1  To amend an Act creating the State Court of Richmond County, 
  1- 2  approved September 22, 1881 (Ga. L. 1880-81, p. 574), as 
  1- 3  amended, so as to provide that the solicitor-general of the 
  1- 4  state court shall be a full-time solicitor-general; to 
  1- 5  provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and 
  1- 6  for other purposes. 
 
  1- 7       BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: 
 
  1- 8                           SECTION 1. 
 
  1- 9  An Act creating the State Court of Richmond County, approved 
  1-10  September 22, 1881 (Ga. L. 1880-81, p. 574), as amended, is 
  1-11  amended by adding, following Section 4, a new Section 4.1 to 
  1-12  read as follows: 
 
  1-13                         "SECTION 4.1. 
 
  1-14    (a) The solicitor-general of the state court shall be a 
  1-15    full-time solicitor-general as provided in Code Section 
  1-16    15-18-63 of the O.C.G.A. or any statute which succeeds 
  1-17    such Code section. 
 
  1-18    (b) The solicitor-general shall not engage in the private 
  1-19    practice of law. 
 
  1-20    (c) The solicitor-general shall receive a salary of 
  1-21    $64,000.00 per annum payable in equal monthly installments 
  1-22    from the funds of Augusta-Richmond County.  Any salary 
  1-23    supplement heretofore enacted by Augusta-Richmond County 
  1-24    shall continue to be applicable to the solicitor-general, 
  1-25    and Augusta-Richmond County may enact such supplements 
  1-26    from time to time. 
 
  1-27    (d) The solicitor-general of the State Court of Richmond 
  1-28    County holding office on the effective date of this Act 
  1-29    shall continue in office until the expiration of the term 
  1-30    of office to which such solicitor-general was elected."

  2- 1                           SECTION 2. 
 
  2- 2  This Act shall become effective upon its approval by the 
  2- 3  Governor or upon its becoming law without such approval. 
 
  2- 4                           SECTION 3. 
 
  2- 5  All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
