Rick Price of Fayetteville was elected in 1996 to serve his first term in the Georgia Senate in 1997-98 Assembly.
Price, a Republican, is serving on the Consumer Affairs Committee and the Economic Development, Tourism & Cultural Affairs Committee. As a member of these two committees, Price will be involved in legislation dealing with consumer protection and fair business standards, as well as legislation aimed at Georgia's economic future, new industry and the job market. Senator Price is also a member of the State & Local Governmental Operations Committee, which affects the management of government agencies and employee benefits. The Transportation Committee that Price is a member of effects Georgia' 100,000 miles of roads and highways, and it includes airports and rail systems.
Before his election to the Georgia State Senate, Price served on the Fayette County Board of Commisssions for eight years, and was the Commission Chairman from 1994-1996.
Senator Price's occupation is that of an Employee Benefits Specialist. He completed his undergraduate studies at Miami-Dade Community College, and is currently working towards his Master's Degree in Financial Planning.
Price was born in Guantano Bay, Cuba at the U.S. Naval Base, and served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. Price and his wife, Donna, are the parents of Alicia and Katy.
