HR 8EX LC 8 2579 A RESOLUTION 1- 1 Commending Irene Shubladze; and for other purposes. 1- 2 WHEREAS, Irene Shubladze is an outstanding student in the 1- 3 Gwinnett County School System; and 1- 4 WHEREAS, she was born on March 8, 1981, in Soviet Georgia 1- 5 which subsequently declared its independence as a nation 1- 6 state and adopted the designation Republic of Georgia; and 1- 7 WHEREAS, since coming to the United States and eventually to 1- 8 the State of Georgia, she has learned a new language and 1- 9 overcome many cultural barriers quickly and smoothly; and 1-10 WHEREAS, she diligently applied herself to her schoolwork at 1-11 Sweetwater Middle School in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and was 1-12 rewarded for her efforts by winning the President's Merit 1-13 Award in 1995; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Irene became a student at Berkmar High School in 1-15 the fall of 1995, and her excellent scholarship and personal 1-16 success in adapting to her new homeland merit the utmost 1-17 praise and recognition. 1-18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 1-19 REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and 1-20 commend Irene Shubladze for her exceptionally fine academic 1-21 accomplishments and recent national award for scholarship 1-22 and express to her their best wishes for her continued 1-23 success and and happiness. 1-24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 1-25 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 1-26 appropriate copy of this resolution to Irene Shubladze. -1- (Index)
