HR 1327 LC 19 3148 A RESOLUTION 1- 1 Commending the Little Five Points Business Association; and 1- 2 for other purposes. 1- 3 WHEREAS, our government and our constitution are founded on 1- 4 the principle that citizens, "We The People," have the right 1- 5 to be heard through our elected officials; and 1- 6 WHEREAS, citizens, "We The People," with the rights given to 1- 7 each of us by our constitution have the responsibility to 1- 8 take an active role in our government as voters and as 1- 9 advocates for issues that are important to us; and 1-10 WHEREAS, when citizens take an active role as advocates, 1-11 they have a tremendously positive impact on the legislative 1-12 process; and 1-13 WHEREAS, the Georgia House of Representatives believes that 1-14 it is important to promote more involvement of citizens in 1-15 the legislative process so the voices of citizens will not 1-16 be lost among the voices of special interest groups. 1-17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 1-18 REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the 1-19 Little Five Points Business Association for its active 1-20 involvement as a "Citizen Legislator" in the 1996 Georgia 1-21 General Assembly and for providing an idea that led to the 1-22 introduction of legislation and express the hope that the 1-23 Little Five Points Business Association will continue to be 1-24 a "Citizen Legislator" in future years. 1-25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 1-26 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 1-27 appropriate copy of this resolution to the Little Five 1-28 Points Business Association. -1- (Index)
