HB 514 LC 10 1091 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT 1- 1 To amend Code Section 15-18-22 of the Official Code of 1- 2 Georgia Annotated, known as "The Law School Public 1- 3 Prosecutor Act of 1970," so as to change the definition of 1- 4 the term "district attorney"; to authorize the use of 1- 5 certain law school students and instructors as legal 1- 6 assistants in certain proceedings in municipal courts; to 1- 7 repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes. 1- 8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: SECTION 1. 1- 9 Code Section 15-18-22 of the Official Code of Georgia 1-10 Annotated, known as "The Law School Public Prosecutor Act of 1-11 1970," is amended by striking in its entirety paragraph (2) 1-12 of subsection (c) of Code Section 15-18-22 and inserting in 1-13 lieu thereof a new paragraph (2) to read as follows: 1-14 "(2) 'District attorney' means any district attorney of 1-15 this state, the Attorney General, the director of the 1-16 Prosecuting Attorneys' Council, or any solicitor of a 1-17 state or municipal court or any assistants of such 1-18 officers." SECTION 2. 1-19 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are 1-20 repealed. -1- (Index)
