HB 1722 LC 14 6694 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT 1- 1 To amend Part 2 of Article 2 of Chapter 3 of Title 20 of the 1- 2 Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the 1- 3 University System of Georgia, so as to provide that the 1- 4 board of regents shall be authorized to place in a fund each 1- 5 fiscal year at the Medical College of Georgia a certain 1- 6 portion of patient care revenues from the college's hospital 1- 7 operations; to provide that such funds shall not lapse but 1- 8 shall be reserved by the college as working capital for 1- 9 hospital operations; to provide for related matters; to 1-10 repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes. 1-11 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: SECTION 1. 1-12 Part 2 of Article 2 of Chapter 3 of Title 20 of the Official 1-13 Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the University System 1-14 of Georgia, is amended by adding at its end a new Code 1-15 Section 20-3-84 to read as follows: 1-16 "20-3-84. (Index) 1-17 The board of regents of the University System of Georgia 1-18 shall be authorized to place in a fund each fiscal year at 1-19 the Medical College of Georgia an amount not to exceed 4.7 1-20 percent of the patient care revenues from Medical College 1-21 of Georgia hospital operations for that year. These funds 1-22 shall not lapse to the state treasury but shall be 1-23 reserved by the Medical College of Georgia as working 1-24 capital for hospital operations." SECTION 2. 1-25 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are 1-26 repealed. -1- (Index)
